FIGHT BACK AGAINST SEXUAL HARASSMENT

We observe that there are two main things that allow harassment to continue:

1. When a woman is harassed, she often feels alone. Isolated.

2. Women often don't know how best to respond, both in the moment and long term, when harassed. They feel as though they are in danger and don't know how to escape. 

Our program seeks to help women realize that they are not alone. We brainstorm ways to counter harassment when it happens. We discuss options for dealing with harassment long-term.

Here's a sample of some of the workshop activities:

  • SHARING SESSION

Women will share their harassment experiences to prove none of us face this problem alone. We will create a tribe, or, as we like to call it, our "pride," of women to whom each of us can turn for support. In this session, we will also brainstorm how we can respond to harassment in the future. How can we stop a harasser immediately?

  • TEAM-BUILDING EXERCISE

This is a fun and empowering game to help women trust one another and learn that each one of us can project power.

  • POWER MEDITATION

We will develop our sense of inner strength upon which we can draw in challenging situations.

  • SELF-DEFENSE

Everyone's favorite. We will learn how to fight back with verbal and physical self-defense techniques that work. We are stronger than we realize!!
